Collect on Saturday, 2018 2l DSG 148k but very well looked after What's it been used for prior? No idea, bought on rarity of 2l and DSG as well as condition. 12 year old maxis fetch £4K and are battered / mopped up old dogs or slammed disco campers

Did I read you have a business idea or am I dreaming? The reason I was curious on the history is the kind of life it's lead and what sort of servicing it has had You've still paid a high price for it then given the mileage?

I was planning on going parcel delivering, that now has become a plan B as I've another offer on the table, due to issues currently with my left foot DSG is a good idea anyway. £9.5K - given the vans condition I think the price is good, given the price of old VW vans in good condition always demand a good price?

Best of luck for the new venture Yep, added premium VW Tax . Not up on the prices of these, but I know how much they hold there value.

I look at it that I could use it for 10 years if it proves reliable and it will owe me nothing. My MK7 Golf 2L tdi had similar mileage and passed 3 MOTs, had a pair of tyres and a pair of wipers as well as servicing in 26 months (but included 18 months of COVID - key worker though). So the plan is to look after it and get some wax oil on it asap A van is always useful, my A2 currently is stripped out following a leak in the interior

Well, its here... Attachment DeletedFirst impressions are that its a little softer and less agile than the Focus, but the interior is light years ahead in fit and finish. The engine hustles well once you get it wound up and the turbo spooled, but its also a decent cruiser. The only issue I can see is that the car is complaining that the battery is low, but the only thing that currently affects is the Stop-Start, so we'll see how a few days of use settles it down before I complain about it.

Have a look in the manual. Battery low might mean battery near end of life. Turn the stop start off in the meantime. Stop start battery will be pricey.

S / S only worked on my MK7 Golf after a 50 mile motorway trip (and then maybe 2 / 3 stops), 36 mile daily commute wasn't enough. The battery was still on the car 27 months later when I sold it - the starter didn't wear out, DMF / ring gear neither. As long as you're aware of a potential non start after a week being parked up alls good?

You don't buy a 6/7 year old car and just put up with a duff battery that may let you down.

Interestingly stop-start was working fine this morning, so I'll keep an eye on it for now and mention it to the garage if it carries on.
Warranty is a Volvo Selekt 12-month job, so hopefully not too bad if something comes up.
