I find the 1.25 engine a great little unit to work on, my missus car, a 63plate has only 17500m on the clock. We’ve owned it from new…only criticism is that it’s a 3door rather than a 5….but for the 2 of us it’s a great little motor. I hope you enjoy yours Stu like we do ours…

The only issue I found with my Zetec-SEs was my old 100k+ mile Focus 1.6 liked a drop of 5w-30 and the 1.4 in my aunt's Ford Fusion had the most ridiculously overengineered air filter box I'd ever seen. IIRC it had 9 torx screws in it that had to be removed from below.

My Trusty Focus is still doing well. Focus ST is getting moved on, should be gone on Friday as sale has been agreed. Just taxed the Escort. New Fiesta should be here Saturday. 2012 1.25 fiesta edge 55k 2 owner car. stu You've had the Focus ST a few years now.

Recently shifted the 1.25 Fiesta in to my mate, had it about 11 months and got all money back spent on it. My pal changed career and no longer had a company car. So just at this point my very good friend decided (well his Mrs did) they was getting a caravan. His 2011 Focus Estate cannot pull one, so being that I have looked after it from around 20k miles, I shifted the Fiesta and bought the estate, the wife hated the Fiesta and the estate is a lot more practical as a family wagon.
It's the 1.6ti-vct petrol, only on 63k for a 2011 car. It has puddle lights, folding mirrors, tow bar, reverse sensors etc. It needs a good buffing as my mate hasn't really washed it much, I mat actually have it professionally paint corrected and ceramic coated.
My trusty Focus mk2 1.8 is still going well, not fitted the new Egr valve yet but the light hasn't come back on in the 4 weeks I've had it back off the wife lol
Escort I still have a few jobs to do, but firstly as soon as I tax it again I need to get the dent man to try and fix the damage caused when I had an unexpected avalanche I the garage. 🤯

As Rear end Admiral of my Fleet, I've decided its time for a bit of a change of scene...
The 2010 Focus MK2 1.8 petrol, now with 102k miles and 5 years service with me has passed another MOT, but in the last month or so has needed front discs/pads/calipers as well as the "big" front wishbone bushes changed. While these aren't big jobs in and of themselves the car is now getting on a bit and I fancy a bit of a change.
Therefore the Focus will be going to my brother, and a new motor will be arriving in the next few days. I had fancied a MK3 Focus, but wasn't keen on the long term reliability of a 1.0 Ecoboost in such a heavy car, as well as finding them a bit rough
Instead, I've invested in a 2016 Volvo V40 T3, which is based on the MK2/MK3 Focus platfom, but the later models such as this use Volvo's own engines. The T3 is a 2.0 Turbo petrol 4 pot with 150bhp, and this motor is from a Volvo dealer, so comes with a year's warranty to boot.
