First problem with the new Tiguan has cropped up. Nothing major but the TPMS light came on again this evening coming home(second time in just over a week). It's telling me the rear n/s tyre has lost pressure so after having checked it it's lost 2psi again same as last time. Last time I checked all four and blew the n/s one back up to the required pressure and reset the TPMS system light nothing obvious I could see. I'm going to see my tyre fella on Monday and see if I have a slow puncture or something else a miss. Nothing obvious when I checked over the whole tyre. TPMS light still on not blew the tyre up the 2 psi this time as I'm going to check the tyre pressure in the morning and Monday see if it's lost anymore? Bit of spit and check if the valve is leaking. Got a valve key? Nip it up. Or a leak on the tyre bead. Done the spitty test nothing showing. I haven't got a valve key. Tyres lost another couple of PSI since yesterday so I've checked all four tyres again and only the n/s/r is loosing pressure so I've blown it up again and reset the TPMS function.

I can help with a gall of 5* and a box of SV.... ( jeez I ought to stop posting this sort of crap or I'll be getting a rep as an arsonist... ) Is the tpms passive or active on yours? My Passat is based on angular velocity read by the abs sensors... what a pos! I'm not 100% sure which system it's got chip. What I don't get is tyre pressure set at 35PSI and TPMS light comes on about 32-33 PSI when pressure checked. I thought the tyre had to loose around 25% of it's set pressure to trigger the TPMS light?

Have you reset the pressures on the radio?
I assume all the tyres are the correct size?

Have you reset the pressures on the radio? I assume all the tyres are the correct size? 1) No TPMS is reset through the multimedia display. 2) Tyres are all 235/50/19V 99R

Well it transpires my n/s/r tyre had a small old rusty screw right in the centre between the two middle treads that was causing the tyre to loose pressure. Tyre repaired and all good at the right pressure and TPMS reset again so should be okay now.

I filled the Tiguan up again last night with E5 on the way home. The price has gone up again £151.9p/ltr. Well the first tank of E5 produced similar MPG to the E10 (32-33 mpg) but I have only done one longish journey, mostly local mileage on the last tank. The performance seems slightly better but nothing to rave about. Let's see what this tank of E5 brings in terms of MPG.
