I suspect the extra power needed for the inclines finished it off? Free charging (some are?) at the carpark was enough incentive ignore the warnings?

I think we can expect a lot more of this sort of thing, until either the owners become more savvy about the charging-needs of their cars, or some sort of penalty-clause is imposed by the car-park management for entering such a situation without due concern to the state of battery charge-status.
It isn't just car-parks: Consider what happens to a garage business that has one of these horrors breakdown in front of the workshop, where the thing cannot be moved out of "Parking Mode" or whatever? I already "enjoy" all the clever little gremlins built-in by a certain British manufacturer into their overweight Chelsea-tractors, such as gear-selector controls that cannot be over-ridden if the battery supply into them fails, so the car cannot be moved safely without removing the driveshafts..... Now, I wonder how good these cars are going to be when they go the full-EV stretch?

We do a lot of JLR products and they all have a system for putting the vehicle in to neutral New defender and various others lever under the engine cover, velar/evoque bolt through selector above gearbox into locator hole new phev evoque remove blanking plug rear drive and screw in bolt to disconnect diff.

That is, the fuel companies are capitalising on the need for some cars to be forced to run Super Unleaded, and are now over a barrel on this?

I paid that yesterday at Sainsbury’s Nantwich, TT runs nicely on it.

I think it's to put people off using there cars so much, try and force some to EV's and raise some much needed revenue for the Govt with fuel duty and vat. I keep hearing nothing but bad reports on E10 so I'm keeping well away from it

I keep hearing nothing but bad reports on E10 so I'm keeping well away from it One of the things that nags me about E10 is the very issue I'm having to deal-with on the 1.2TFSI VAG engine right now - lean running. If there are some "modern" engines that are a bit edgy with regard to this problem, then E10 is going to push them that little bit over the edge.
The stock response that "modern engines will self-calibrate themselves to compensate for the enrichment needed" is not going to work if they are already right at the limits of stratified combustion. Typical government greenwashing!
Well, that's my take on the subject....

Well, that's my take on the subject.... Yep another reason to have the E5 in my Mitsubishi Colt
