Closed on a Sunday, and there are few, if any Sainsbury stores in Scotland...........So it makes it pre-Sunday trading laws..... I also had my first diesel-engined car in 1989, but it was a bit more exotic than Remmington's; a 1974 LWB Ser_III Landrover, 2.25ltr. 90mph was a little beyond its capabilities; when I drove it home from the sale, I joined the M6 just South of Hilton Park, and with the slip-road down onto the motorway, I was just able to ease the old boy over 40mph..... Is it not funny how the age of the diesel car has gone full circle. I started with this Ford Orion 1.6D - then a year later I bought wifey a 1989 Citroen AX 1.4D. Moving onto fleets of Pug HDi estates and then Merc Diesels. Owning other diesel cars/4x4 as well in the 32year period. Now I won't be touching a diesel car with a bargepole. I got one 2.0TDi 2012 VW Passat estate left, bought this in 2017. When this reaches the end of its life - it will be the last diesel passenger car I ever own - I would think.

Just notice this morning that RED diesel has gone to 89.9p per litre at my local JET garage.. Guess I'll be spending less time in the garage this winter..

I don’t think I am quite ready to change my digger for electric yet.

I've just filled the Tiguan up again £149.9p/litre for E5 instead of E10. 53.37 litres =£80.

It's a knee jerk attempt at cleaner air, ethanol absorbs water and we're now in the damp season. Water and injectors / fuel pumps etc don't mix. You'll get a smoother running engine, improved MPG, faster warm up and potentially less wear and tear on your fuel system and engine with super U/L. 10% water in your beer, yes or no? I'll revert to E5 next time I fill up. I'll check to see if there's any improvement in terms of MPG or faster warm up. Average of 33 on E10. As mentioned the post before this I have filled up the Tiguan again this time with E5. 33.5 mpg on the last tank of E5 so let's see what if any improvements to the mpg figures and performance I get? I've now done 750 in five weeks of ownership (tomorrow 5/11/2021) which is a lot for me it's been a busy few weeks of late here and their. If I keep this rate of mileage up I'll do the same this twelve months compared to the last two years put together.
