New test components go live on the 20/03/2013. Although the manual has been updated the system has not, so no RFR's can be selected for new testable components.it will be interesting to see what happens on the 20th ;D
Bounce check has been scrapped which to me is a step backwards.
Coil spring RFR is back to normal though so the spring has to be complete in all cases. (what was the point of that then??)

Yes but what's to stop you still checking the damping effort this way I can normally tell If a shocker is knackered before I've got out of the vehicle, when they bounce in/out of the brake rollers Plus the only shocks I've failed in the last few years where on fiat pandas ( think there famous for it )

Steering lock is gonna be a pain to test
A large % of new fords are keyless type ( passive key )
So to engage the electronic steering lock you either have to wait 60 secs for it to engage or move key away from vehicle perimeter

So you won't be able to fail a shocker which doesn't work Only if its got a major leak? But in that case, you could take away stream clean it for a pass

If you ride behind a vehicle with worn faulty shock or shock's you will see the wheel hopping from the first reaction valve not working ,this cant be detected from a bounce test , if the shock is that bad the vehicle would be all over the place on the road ,

This has got me thinking...
We sell and fit allot of springs, but not too many shocks these days.
Mostly shocks on vans and 4x4.

Also oe exhausts seem to last much longer now adays It's not unusual to see a 10 year old plus vehicle with the original exhaust ( must use better steel ) How many exhausts do you change ?

Hi all, new here, we have just heard a working SRS light has been pulled from the latest test requirements, seems they have still not sorted this lot out properly.

Excluding DPF filters (which I have lost count how many). We do not sell too many exhausts these days. I think cars run cleaner these days and don't rot them out from the inside-out...

These faceless wonders really need a good shake...There's been so much decsion making and changing, and back-stepping the last couple of years. All it's doing is causing confusion
