wonder what the pass rate for heavies is. i know quite a few companies round this way that are still running death traps, and will only spend money on the wagons when they break down of fail the test. and even then it's only the absolute minimum they can get away with

The Dynamic Stability Control lamp illuminated would be a RfR now, needs fixing before the next MOT. Thanks, the abs light works as it should , but the orange explanation mark in the centre of cluster is on, Any common faults to look for ??

Several things on the older motors that cause DSC problems, steering angle sensor, wheel speed sensors, yaw rate sensor, the modules themselves (ABS) and wiring. As Rhubarb says it really needs reading with a good BMW scanner to point in the right direction.

If you ride behind a vehicle with worn faulty shock or shock's you will see the wheel hopping from the first reaction valve not working ,this cant be detected from a bounce test , if the shock is that bad the vehicle would be all over the place on the road , So you reckon scrapping the bounce check is a good idea then? We could perhaps have a chase car on standby to video the cars stability on the road as part of the test?? .....what do you suggest??

hi the french for their CT (mot) have a machine they drive over to test each shock. They have had them for years, I got an advisory one year stating I had an inbalance in my rear shocks, 2 years later no imbalance found. Seems like a good idea from a road safety point of view but would of course be more investment in machinery.
