I never taken any photos before we started the stripping so when I get some its gonna be part the way into the strip down.
The house has been empty for over a year so the rear garden has became quite over grown. I've just agreed a price for having that cleared.
Its a 2 bed semi, requiring some repair and updating, since we officially got the keys on Thursday we have between a few of us,
Stripped the back bedroom carpets and walls, Stripped living room walls. Stripped dining room, walls and ceiling. The kitchen wall paper has been stripped. The economy 7 storage heaters x2 have been removed and disposed of. My brother in law has started chasing some wiring into the walls along with some plug sockets that were surface mounted.
So the next jobs will be to,
Remove 2 fireplaces from the downstairs rooms and make good with whatever we are left with. Strip the entire bathroom ready for a new one, a green bathroom suite isn't gonna cut it in this era, neither are polystyrene ceiling tiles. Get a brand new decent combi boiler and full new central heating system. This will allow us to get shut of the airing cupboard in the bathroom. The kitchen worktops need replacing as will one of the carcus's. Then new tiles and decoration to the kitchen along with a right good clean. Then a load of decorating, some new lighting and probably a couple of suspended ceilings for the kitchen and bathroom.
With what we have stripped so far we haven't came across any nasty surprises, so fingers crossed it will stay like that.
I need to have a loo for somewhere decent to host some pictures, any suggestions?

Any interest in a house project? We have just bought the adjoining semi detached house to ours so are currently renovating it. In my former life, I tried to do this as well. I had an ulterior motive; I needed to expand my car-space sideways, as I had run out of garden to go forwards or backwards. The sale went so far, then fell through when the owners (the children of my deceased neighbour) went back on my offer (the house was dreadful, needed a lot of "modernisation") and sold elsewhere after shaking-hands on the contract. I lost a fair bit of money with solicitors and land-searches as well..........
So I was thoroughly p***ed off, the money was burning a hole in my pocket, and I found a nice little renovation project in Scotland.........

The ideas behind this one are, to hopefully have decent neighbors, a potential income when we retire and other option is a house for our daughter when she is older.

I tend to use Fotosizer on my PC to resize my photos and then upload them as attachments, otherwise there's a few free image hosting platforms listed here www.lifewire.com/free-image-hosting-sites-3486329

Are you knocking through or selling on? Rent it out, the layout wouldn't lend itself to a knock through. Depending how this goes maybe buy another house in a couple of years and rent our current property out too.

I imagine the chimney breasts being back to back are throwing a spanner in the works? I went to auction last month to buy lot 2 www.buttersjohnbee.com/images/auction/catalogues/Auction-catalogue-May-2018-web.pdfNext door is for sale for £99K and has been for a while, guide was 23K and it made £77K...... 2 inches of water under the wooden front floor, brambles 8 feet high the whole length of the garden - its exactly how it was built 150 years ago. Roof leaks, damp everywhere, rotten frames, doors broken etc, etc Old chap living in absolute squalor (no central heating, insulation etc), any guesses how much he left in his will (it was in the legal pack)?
