I imagine the chimney breasts being back to back are throwing a spanner in the works? I went to auction last month to buy lot 2 www.buttersjohnbee.com/images/auction/catalogues/Auction-catalogue-May-2018-web.pdfNext door is for sale for £99K and has been for a while, guide was 23K and it made £77K...... 2 inches of water under the wooden front floor, brambles 8 feet high the whole length of the garden - its exactly how it was built 150 years ago. Roof leaks, damp everywhere, rotten frames, doors broken etc, etc Old chap living in absolute squalor (no central heating, insulation etc), any guesses how much he left in his will (it was in the legal pack)? That's going to take a good bit of sorting! He left 250grand?

Trying again with the pictures, if anybody can confirm them working or not. So that's bathroom destruction.

Last couple for now. Back bedroom. So today I've been sorting some materials out for my mate to start on the bathroom in the next week or so, he is going to dry line the bathroom ready for tiling the entire thing. We have loaded a 4 ton skip almost to the top, that is on my driveway as there was nowhere else to put it, hopefully get that collected this week. I've also made about 4 trips to the dump to get rid of a lot of the crap that had accumulated in bin bags etc. So we now have a lot more room to work Got to go looking for a bathroom suite tomorrow and a kitchen base unit as the one under the sink was ruined. Plumber needs to come back now its removed to put the new water feeds in for the kitchen sink and washing machine. Also need to source new worktops and a electric oven and hob, we have been advised to have electric only in the kitchen.

Looks like you've not wasted any time at all there! I used to be able to work at that speed, so something must be wrong these days....

I've only done a fraction of it, mother in law, father in law and brother in law have really got stuck in. Now I've sorted hosting pictures I will sort some more. Plumber should be back Monday to put the new feeds to kitchen sink now the units out.

Removed the toilet today. It was absolutely disgusting. The smell had us retching. I had to remove the coupling that attaches soil pipe to the toilet and bin that as it was full of shite.
We turfed the actual toilet into the skip on our driveway and load if shite has spilt into the top of the skip. Dunno if the plumber had dropped a lot in the bog and not flushed it.
We tried adding more rubble and a pair if curtains but to no avail, the smell of crap is blowing down the street.
I'm really hoping I can get the skip collected tomorrow, even if it means paying extra.
Running out of things we can be doing now till the rewire is finished and the plastering is sorted. Had a quote today for the plastering work and nearly soiled myself so I need to get another couple of quotes. Mother in law has been cleaning here and there, maybe another couple of tip runs to complete.

Ooops, Stupid Stu put his foot through the ceiling today when he turned around to pick something up in the bathroom, forgetting that there are floor boards removed in all rooms upstairs.

We have lived with a Mrs. Valhalla footprint through our living room ceiling for 10years now, so nothing to be worried about.....

we've been 7 1/2 years doing our old cottage up, only some of the joists & most of the external bricks are left original, seemed like a good idea at the time, but self employment & doing a house up don't always work in harmony for me, but it is now dry, warm & a lot bigger

Ooops, Stupid Stu put his foot through the ceiling today when he turned around to pick something up in the bathroom, forgetting that there are floor boards removed in all rooms upstairs. Oops!....lol... When I was sorting out our last house, ( taking a stud wall down between two bedrooms to make one) I decided to do some plumbing and rad swaps, took some flooring up in the adjacent b/room ( chipboard flooring! ) missus Chip was helping, missed her footing and went thru the ceiling......big hole ensued in the dining room below..... I was more concerned for her wellbeing, whereas she was more concerned about the extra work she had created.....
