Reset the timing this afternoon and she started :-) tried to give it a bit of throttle and she died. Now it's back to how it was before when trying to start

Anything worn or elongated on cam or crank pulleys?
Do these run a cam and crank sensor or just a crank?

Fuel supply problem ? Enough to start but not to rev up. Fuel filter OK ?

Anything worn or elongated on cam or crank pulleys? Do these run a cam and crank sensor or just a crank? Normally both on these and the cam sensor wiring/connector is a tad fragile

You say you reset timing so was timing out all along or not?

Tensioner had let go so cam timing had slipped. It now starts every time but does seem to have a misfire
