I changed the fuel filter on my 2007 Toyota Auris 2 litre D4D and I also cleaned out the SCV valve because the car was difficult to start in the morning during cold weather (common problem with the auris? I had a job to start the car which I put down to an air lock in the fuel system because of the filter change. The car run fine after it started. Today the car would not start, eventually it did run but ran in limp mode and check engine error codes, codes P0088, P0093, P0102 and P0113. Cleared codes but they returned again and it's running in limp mode. Any idea what could be causing this? Had the car for a number of years and never any problems or error codes. Attachment Deleted

Thanks. I was suspecting it was something to do with the SCV valve, probably the cleaning finished it off! Anyway, I have ordered a new SCV valve will update when it's fitted.

Sounds like the time I cleaned the EGR valve on my mother's old Astra CDTi to try and turn the EML off. The valve had stuck in the closed position. I freed it off and it stuck in the open position, meaning it ran like a bag of bolts

Fitted a new SCV valve, cleared the errors and it run ok for about five miles. Parked the car up drove about 1 mile and it went back into limp mode with a P0093 error. Any ideas what's going on?

You mentioned fitting a new fuel filter so I would check that the filter is sealed properly and go from there.

No sign of any fuel leaks anywhere. I even tried the old fuel filter back on to eliminate that the new fuel filter wasn't causing the problem, still the same problem only one code error now which is the P0093.

I'd ask on a specific toyota forum if they know the sensors and values used to provide that code. Its possible something is bypassing internally or a pressure regulator isn't happy and the ECU thinks all the diesel is leaking out rather than returning to the tank.

I thought there was a relearn procedure on the denso scv’s
you may need the use of a better scanner
the airflow & iat code refers to the mass airflow meter circuit

I used my old Autel MS908 to do this routine, so ought to be possible with Autel / Topdon / Launch sort of tools.

Personally I wouldn't trust your Diagnostic tool.

The problem turned out to be the wrong SCV valve was supplied and three glow plugs were dead. Correct SCV valve now fitted and four new glow plugs fitted.
There is still a problem starting with a cold engine I have to give about 10-15 seconds with the ignition on before using the starter even when the ambient temperature is around 10°C. If I don't give it this time it struggles to start and when it does there is a lot of white smoke from the exhaust which last about 5-10 seconds. The car then runs fine, no misfiring, no excessive smoke and starts on the button when hot.
Any ideas?
