Hi,
So I put a new egr on and tested the cables with a multimeter. It was fine. But was still throwing faults.
I grounded it to check the valve and it was working. But now the car has lost all 12v power. Only getting 3.5v everywhere. Egr, cigarette socket, other circuits in engine.
Please help
It's a corsa c

Dont have a manual to hand......have you got 12v at the battery? Got a good earth? Have you checked the fuses?

Ran a continuity check around the engine to the negative on the battery. Showed all good. Then ran continuity from the battery negative to the egr negative. Both show 042. Yet the 5v reference cable shows 001. No continuity on live or signal. As it should be. What fuses would you suggest I check?

you need to look at the wiring diagrams in the manual...I dont have one for the Corsa C.. As an alternative, check all the fuses in the engine bay...laborious but .....

What are you using to check continuity with? Those values are meaningless...

Battery voltage only 12 volts? So it's flat then.

Battery voltage only 12 volts? So it's flat then. 12 volt battery at 12 volts... or 12.53v. sorry I wasn't more specific. The battery is in good condition.

You need to confirm the range on your multimeter (dvm) It needs to be on the 200 Ohm range, which is the lowest... Then re-measure the resistance of the wires between the egr and ecu. Did you check the fuses in the box? We cant help if you cant help us with the basics...

Did you check the fuses in the box? We cant help if you cant help us with the basics... I've looked at some, can't find any issues atm. Tomorrow I'll run a check between the egr and ecu at 200ohms. This might help too, I managed to get these: P1405 Raw code: 1405 ECU: 11 Status: Pending OBDII: DPFE Sensor Upstream Hose Off Or Plugged Vauxhall: Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Valve 3 - Read Our Article on EGR Valve Codes For Help With This GM Check Engine Light Code; Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Valve 3 ============11============== P0141 Raw code: 0141 ECU: 11 Status: Pending OBDII: Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2, bank 1, heater control - circuit malfunction ============12============== P0135 Raw code: 0135 ECU: 11 Status: Pending OBDII: Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 1, bank 1, heater control - circuit malfunction ============13============== P0443 Raw code: 0443 ECU: 11 Status: Pending OBDII: Evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve - circuit malfunction Vauxhall: Evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve - circuit malfunction ============14============== P0403 Raw code: 0403 ECU: 11 Status: Pending OBDII: Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) - circuit malfunction Vauxhall: Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Control Circuit Open Could the open egr circuit be causing the 3.5v reading? Would it foul the other sensors?
