They wouldn't have to drag the catalysts out from underneath if they had the same roads we have round here; my favourite Daewoo Tacuma is lined-up to come in for its 7th exhaust repair in 2years - the pipes just keep snapping when the car barrels over the Bailey bridges, of which there are hundreds on Skye, despite me checking the tensions and the hangers/straps every time.
The elderly owner does have a reputation for "spirited driving"..........

I remember you mentioning that at the time. Is it really 12 months ago. Did anything suffice from the investigation as to what happened?

Poor f*cker has to live with being involved (in some way) with a friends death....

Either it's being kept underwraps or like you say delayed by Covid?

Either it's being kept underwraps or like you say delayed by Covid? HSE are involved, our company had nothing to do with it, contractors were employed to fix the lift, it was their employee that lost his life. I’ve found several links to inquests for the incident but non have a conclusion

oh dear, how sad, never mind. moving on! feel sorry for the poor sods who found em though Yes, I can appreciate that could be a harrowing sight to stumble across. For me personally I think the pain would be lessened due to the fact that he / they were on the rob, be it a catalytic converter belonging to someone else or my tools that he / they were attempting to help themselves to, so I’m sorry if I appear harsh, but I really have no sympathy for the perpetrators

That's before you account for "no longer stocked" cats, like the CR-V 2004 that I was nurturing a short while back. Instant write-off, and total loss of car / transport for the poor owner, not to mention the hassle of disposing of the car.
The people I have on my books are right on the limit for their budgets, made considerably worse by loss of income over the last year, so having their only transport damaged by some light-fingered, thieving b***er would be the end for them.....

We had a car done in our car park a week or two ago. We had them on cctv but the police didn’t want to know. It was one of ours so have t done any harm really. The car is rough as shit but we keep it going as It’s our cafe racer / gearbox collector. We’ve erm, welded a piece of pipe in for now until the mot is up on it Probably about a year back somebody travelled 15 miles from Caerphilly to where I live, 4am in the morning. Jacked a car up and began cutting the cat off. The car fell off the jack and killed him. Caused huge rows on Facebook as people were quite rightly laughing at him. His family and friends were livid saying he was such a nice guy, wouldn’t hurt a fly, either going to be a footballer or a rapper, trails for Cardiff city, always in a brand new tracksuit, doted on his kids when he had them every two weeks. A thief is the lowest of the f*cking low in my opinion.
