There are various ways of proving/disproving if the DMF is the cause of your problem, however I have heard that professional clutch fitting centres have an electronic tool that can advise if the DMF is faulty.

I didn't really hear the noise in your video, but I have had a problem with this engine on a couple of occasions in the past. the noise I had was like a tappet noise i.e. Top end 1/2 crank speed, it was a big end with that much movement the piston was tapping the valve, no low oil pressure warning, on live data the oil pressure pid displayed ok.
when we took the sump off & manipulated the conrods it was obvious, but took a lot of head scratching to arrive at that point. Oil pump was a problem on some of these engines

Oil pump was a problem on some of these engines This is about where I was in my mind - we have had this on Kia J3 2.9 engine. We had days listening to it - till we got the sump off. Strangely as well - the Kia engine had good compression readings equal over four cylinders. Nothing odd about the oil pressure on live data - but on screen it was - just on and off - on dealer GSCAN... (fat lot of help a dealer tool was at that point) When we go it apart - one bottom shell was pooped. Just maybe - you get rod piston throw with the play from the bottoms end. So thus the equal readings on a gauge? The frustration of finding an accurate diagnosis - is not nice at times - stripping things buying parts - the head scratching... I was the OP of this thread - I put a whole new engine in the customers transit - with a set of four injectors - it is still running now!

bowtay would it be possible for you to run the engine at idle speed for at least 30 seconds or more, and while doing so could you put your video camera with sound as close to the exhaust tail pipe as you can.

Ideally when the noise effect is taking place.

To me that engine sounds OK. If the valves had leakage problems normally you'd expect to here a popping type noise at the tail pipe every time the cylinder misfires. With regards the clutch operation, may I suggest leaving the engine idling and having another person there with you while you put your camera and mike as close to the transmission (under front of van) as possible, and record the noise from that location both while the clutch pedal is applied and released. If a clutch bearing fault were developing then in the early stages normally the noise appears when the clutch pedal is depressed, and if more advanced the noise could be there constantly. There should be NO NOISE present during clutch operation while depressing the pedal on/off. If the DMF is in the early stages of failing when some noise can be expected, however as I pointed out in an early post, if you suspect the clutch try and find a clutch centre that has the diagnostic tool to check the operation of the DMF prior to dismantling.

What I heard in the background on the first video (May 24th, 11-25am) was a tinny rattle like a loose heat-shield, or water trickling down a gully However you guys have moved well beyond that so I can't be any help. The second video (five hours before this post) sounded OK to me.
