11th august for fordfair@ silverstone. I keep getting set backs finacially which haven't helped me get the escort done quicker. lol Timing belt and water pump on the wifes st, 2 goodyears on the same car and tonight I've just discovered that the n/s/f shocker has shat itself so looks like I will be footing the bill for that next too. Thanks for that. I might go to that with a mate or two. I'll have a look see how much tickets are?

250-300 should be easily achievable, main thing is it drives real good, probably limit it to 18psi boost.
Should still sound like a rs turbo as I've retained the cvh exh manifold. It should go really well too, its near half a ton lighter than the wifes st.

That does not surprise me ! Even with the extra sill reinforcements
There's a picture on Facebook from rs direct
It shows two mk2 focus rs's along side a sierra cosworth 3 door and the cosworth looks tiny !

Even my focus estate looks a great deal smaller than the ST

Is the gearbox ok for that sort of power and brakes able to stop it.

Mechanical abs removed and re-plumbed, Escort cosworth calipers and sierra 2wd 283mm discs (cross drilled and grooved), fresh fluid, fully serviced rear drum brake set up including new cylinders.1 click handbrake. Stops really well for a old ford.
Gearbox was fully rebuilt last year with a virgin mainshaft, so should realistically be as strong as it can be.
The 6 paddle clutch will need a bit of bedding in I expect before it can go for mapping, I'm hoping the mapper I use will tweak my cvh turbo map so I can do 100 miles or so of low boost driving to bed the clutch and also to highlight any issues prior to going for mapping to its full potential.
I might throw a new set of tyres on it too, as the yoko's have only about 3-4mm on and have been on the car at least 4 years, the rear tyres have spent large periods of time on the ground with the front end up on stands.

Sounds good to me enjoy her when she's done.

Well guys I've put some serious hours in on the motor and its now alive, needs a couple of bits tidying, then a fuel pressure check as its a bit lean, then the mapping can be looked at followed by suspension reassemble.

Well guys its fully re assembled, I've checked the fuel pressure and I need to fit the oil pressure gauge, give it a clean, then I'm awaiting on the mapper hopefully altering the ecu calibration as the engine won't idle on its own at the minute, once it does then its off to work for a MOT. Really happy with how its looking under the bonnet now.

I don't think so, but never say never, its gotta be mot'd, then taxed in august, then needs some miles putting on it to bed the clutch in then proper mapping, I don't think there is enough time realistically, so the wifes ST will have to do, but there is a rolling road day at motorsport developments where I live in the last weekend of august so I'm aiming to have it mapped etc for that to see what it produces.

Well I've spoken to the mapper, got it idling via the throttle cable till it goes to the mapper.
Had a drive to the mot station, data logged the journey each way, then email the logs and the ecu calibration to the mapper who will then hopefully alter the maps so it drives better, its currently far too lean. Car passed the mot, just a advisory on the rear tyres.
So hopefully now just need to get it taxed at start of august and put a few gentle miles on it slowly bringing some boost in to bed the clutch in etc.
If everything behaves itself then it can go for full throttle mapping and some decent amount of boost stuffed down its neck.
Its taken a while but we appear to be getting somewhere.
