Brought a Ka through work that was going to be scrapped for £100 as is one owner, 50k miles and good condition. Seemed like a waste to just send it for scrap. Drives well, and is actually quite good fun to drive. Anyway the workshop has agreed to use scrap money to fund a turbo conversion on the 1.3 endura, so far we have a exhaust manifold with a t25 flange coming and new turbo. Anyone have any ideas of raising fuel pressure? Power Boost Valve?

1.3 endura engine compression is 8.8:1 standard. Seems like it has low compression already?

And transfer the engine 125 ps 1.0 eco boom
Right outta the box
Probably cheaper and easier than trying to turbo an 1.3 endura e

If the engine goes bang then will look at putting a different engine in. The parts to turbo the engine shouldn't be too expensive, we got a few hundred from scrap so that has gone a long way to getting parts. The turbo is free as it was in my parents garage, the exhaust manifold was £120 from Germany, powerboost valve £50 from Burton, we can make up the exhaust at work with the TIG. Will try find some higher flowing used injectors from an Focus or Escort maybe. Small intercoolers and tubing are quite cheap on ebay.

You need a ecu that will fuel for a positive pressure reading from a map sensor. A rising rate fuel pressure regulator won't be enough on it's own.

Will your unsurance company be happy you modifying the car as such? Uprate brakes etc?

I'm sure some insurance company will be happy to take my money. I have a rs2000 with mods and didn't have a problem insuring it.

You ideally want a programmable ecu and a suitable engine loom. Then somebody to calibrate it all.

You ideally want a programmable ecu and a suitable engine loom. Then somebody to calibrate it all. I'll see how it runs on 5-7psi and if needed I'll find a ECU. Could use my scope to see how rich/lean it runs via the Lambda sensor on the standard ECU?

I doubt a narrow band o2 sensor will react fast enough.
The ignition map isn't going to be right neither.
I'm no expert but you I think it will melt something pretty quickly.

The only KA turbo I've heard of was in an old copy of Fast Ford (15 years ago) and was basically a CVH swap.
As everyone is saying the engine management won't be set up in any way to deal with forced induction, so you're either looking at using a megasquirt ECU setup and having a go at mapping it yourself or something much more expensive if you want it to not blow up in the first half an hour.
I'd be interested to see any pics you have, especially this HCS/Endura turbo manifold, as I can't think of an original equipment one, and I really don't see why anyone would bother making one for such a limited market.
