Whilst checking my ST220 over today ready for it's MOT on Thursday morning my rear N/S fog light isn't working. It's not the bulb as it appears ok and I swapped it for a known good one but still no worky so further investigation tomorrow to see why. Anyway my question is are rear fog light testable come MOT time? Mine has two rear fog lights not one and all other lights working ok. I'm going to completely remove the rear lights bulb holder tomorrow and see what's what.

Only the rear offside is a testable item Thanks Matt. I thought if you had two fitted they both had to work so as is it's a PASS. I know some vehicles only have one fitted on the O/S. I'll have a proper look tomorrow at the rear light holder and wiring. Can't believe I've had the ST220 five years come the 27th of this Month. It was a Friday IIRC and a mate took me over to Newark to pick it up.

Once had the same trouble on a Astra every thing ok but couldn't get the rear fog light to work, could get it to work with my op com but not the switch, turned out to be the electric module, customer didn't want to pay for one so I hard wired it to pass the mot, still good today

Like said only offside is legal requirement Spot on Karl as ever. Attachment DeletedAs you can see from the image the left pin is corroded. Somebody has been in their before by the looks of it. Anyway I removed the bulb holder completely and gave the corroded a scrape as best I could (trying not to break it) and then gave the six pins a good clean with switch cleaned and bingo it's working after a bit of wiggling the loom and altering the bulb contact. Put it all back together and gave the bulb holder a few gentle ish taps and the outside lens a few taps and all fine so far. I'm going to replace it with another second hand one and already had a look on E-bay and made an offer on a pair LH and RH ones which are working out cheaper than single ones. MOT 09:00 in the morning fingers crossed.

Passed with three Advisories 001 Oil leak. (Needs further investigation as of late I have been topping it up half a litre every couple of months. Looks like it's leaking from the drivers side? Hard to say sump may be? 002 O/S rear exhaust back box outer skin corroded. 003 N/S rear tyre worn on the inside. Again needs to find out why. No obvious suspension problems so may be I should get the suspension alignment checked. Attachment DeletedDone less miles this last 12 months than I have in a long time. About 7k miles.

Those rear mudflaps need trimming down a touch? Have you got that number plate for sale anywhere BTW? Might be worth a few beer tokens?
