£2000-£3000 Gearbox Custom mounts Custom shafts Hydraulic Clutch conversion Cable shift conversion Possible speedo conversion issues. 2.0 flywheel Focus RS clutch (start around £450 afaik) New starter motor Welding and fabrication, modification of the nearside chassis leg. Refinishing of the engine bay after welding/fabrication. Transporting car to the Wirral for fab work. Possibly a few bits I've missed You should be able to pick a MTX 75 box up for £200 tops or £100 ish if you shop around I didn't realise there was so much involved.

I've got one already from a mk2 Mondeo diesel. Ideally I need a Focus RS mk1 gearbox as that has a LSD these gearboxes are around the £500 mark.
The plus point is with a Focus Rs gearbox I could increase the boost, also should be safe to run the car down the strip at Santa pod.

How much is a Quaife ATB on its own to build in to the gearbox you have?

£702 For a Quaife ATB
I've since found that the diesel mtx box I have has a smaller bell housing which limits the clutch choices unless you space the engine further towards the nearside or grind some of the webbing away.

Big changes ahead for the car, big strip down starts next week. Have you told the Family Xmas is cancelled Stu. Should see me well skint into next year, just arranging some storage for all the parts I'm going to be removing. I will have some parts that I can sell on to help claw a bit of cash back.

Had 2 evenings on it this week, not much left to do now and we are ready to drop the engine and box out.
Gear selector needs removing, cambelt covers, gearbox cradle, gearbox off and out, followed by the engine.
Need to get a good few parts out of the way into storage, then get the car rolling again, I then plan to get it out of the garage and give the engine bay a thorough degreasing.
Seriously hard work in my cramped garage, might have to reassemble it on the driveway next year.

Nah only I have touched it so far on this down, I will rope in a extra pair of hands for the actual lowering out of the engine and box, I certainly can't control the trolley jacks and hold the unmounted engine steady.

Well I now know what happened to 5th gear. Engine and gearbox are out now, suspension is back together, hopefully get it out the garage at weekend and clean the engine bay.

Not really anything I can do now other than give the bay a clean, I can't get it out of the garage on my own so that aint getting done today. Hopefully it will be off to the fabricators next week.
