Just seen this.... any update? and finished pics?
After having a Volvo pull out in front of me and writing off my GP100 I bought the predecessor to this, I had the RS100 (No X). I bought it in boxes from some farm in the middle of no where, back in the days before sat nav.... and before mobile phones were common place for that matter. I borrowed my girlfriends Mk1 Astra and brought it home in the boot. I remember getting lost looking for a phone box to call the number from the ad in the news paper to get directions using the local pubs as a land marks - those skills are a lost!
Me and a mate put it together but it had no compression, so took it apart again and worked out it had completely the wrong piston in it. I think someone had tried to get it going with lawn mower parts or something. Got is sorted, got it MOTed and I used it for a bit.
But eventually sold it on, the kid I sold it to got it nicked and it was found up a tree! ?? I can't remember how the chain of events went but I ended up buying it (or what was left of it) back off him and doing it all again.
haha, great memories.

So the story goes, yes up a tree! Although that may have been one of those stories that had some extra dramatic effect added. More likely it was just in a bush.... but that's just plain average. Either way would have been good to see it for myself.

I had a friend back in the early '90's, still at college in central Lungdung, who possessed (I use that word carefully, as the bike was, in fact, possessed.....) a Suzuki A100 that had been around the college circuit a bit. It had a bent crank, as it turned-out, which gave it a power band that was about 5rpm wide, but an outstanding performance when it went, after a few seconds of twisting the throttle open.
One night it was nicked from outside his digs (Fulham, or something like that) and the following morning, was nowhere to be seen. Except that as he walked up the road, there it was, lying in the gutter, with blood everywhere. Clearly the thing had taken exception to being nicked, fought like a mule to get going, then kicked the rider like a stallion when it hit the power band. A simple mopping-off of the blood was all that was required to get it back into service again. And it was never nicked again.......

Booked my CBT for the 10th of April..
Had some oil coming from what I thought was the head to downpipe join...One of the two threads was a but iffy to say the least..
After some thorough cleaning and running it up it was oozing oil out of the front of the base gasket.
So I ordered up a gasket set from Wemoto for £12.60 delivered and set about taking the head off this afternoon.
Base gasket was fubared...
Fitted a helicoil to the dodgy stud hole, gave the thing a good de-coke, just waiting for the bits now..
Had to remove the indicators and headlight to find out why the main beam warning light isn't working...No bulb ffs! And some bodged earths to the indicators to sort out..
So now going on ebay to order some 6volt capless bulbs..

Got the piston kit fitted today, all back together and running nicer than ever. Got a weak footpeg, took the whole lot off and welded it up..Put it in the vice and leant on it strong as hell..Re-fitted it and once it had cooled down it was weak again Going to try and beef it up with some extra steel.
