They are a good idea, my mate has one on his car, its just a disc within the screw that makes or breaks the circuit, can also be removed so its an extra security trick. only thing is you will loose radio codes etc. saves having to dig a spanner out all the time. I use a similar but smaller one on my motorbike for winter storage
