Alarm going off on A3. Found that by opening and closing tailgate, indicators will flash when arming alarm, and fault goes away
Done some research and found washer pipe leaks onto boot switch, causing problems. Have to admit when I checked on Friday before we went away, the tailgate lock did seem very wet. Will need to take tailgate panel off and have a looksie.
Anyone else come accross this fault before?

Yeah loads of times, but normally VW's
Just make sure the washer jet stays central when you operate it

Nick has your motor got a Bose system? If it has watch the amplifier or the convenience module isn't getting wet which I suspect it might be a pipe split directly above one or the other. Failure regular on Golfs mine leaked a while back pipe had become detacted dried it all out re-attached popped pipe all ok now.

The pipe is leaking; confirmed this morning Mrs Welshy is taking the grand kiddies out later. If I'm still here, then I'll ask her to take the Alfa and i'll sort her car out then

Checked it today. Looks like it's leaking from the body of the wiper motor itself. Connection from washer pipe to motor is tight and dry, but when operating washer, little pressure comes out of jets (I did blow through and checked for blockages) I'm going to price up a new motor

Might be gunged up with shite. ;D

There's some Audi dealers on fleabay selling them new for less than £80, so need to save the pennies and buy one

This thread has reminded me that I need to fix the rear washer on the focus. It currently just waters the rear seat. Head lining out job sent from my HTC using proboards android app

Its not too difficult to remove the back from the wiper motor and clean it out, the water goes down the centre wiper spindle / shaft but can leak via an O ring if there's debris inside.
Or disconnect the rear pump and pipe in the engine bay...................
