We are considering changing our 200,000km Ford Galaxy and would be interested to hear if the new Scenic is sufficiently reliable to consider.
The earlier model had a terrible reputation and I would be interested if anybody has first hand knowledge of the newer model.
Thanks,

Our neighbour has a 2010 Grand Scenic 1.5DCi. They had an issue with it recently with a clear heavy sounding knock from the front of the cam cover area. According to the neighbour, he said that it should have been recalled to have something behind the cam cover realigned (possibly the pump flange but unsure). After realignment and a new timing belt all is well. That's the only gremlin they've had with it in two years. Personally I'd go with other sentiments here and if possible, buy a Ford.

The high pressure fuel pumps have been fitted " off true " And so the t/belt runs off and the engine is smashed to pieces The Renault and Nissan boys are regularly replacing these engines
