I think you either love-'em or hate-'em. Depends on whether you have to fix the electrics on the things. Frankly, it's a Jaguar, so set your expectations low on electrical design, and don't expect much from the production line when it comes to clipping the stuff together.
Value seems about right, to me. You get a lot of car for your money, but you also need to buy-in to the "JLR Experience", which is a load of trouble down the road, and smashed dreams.
Better to buy an older BMW, and spend your money on that. The 4-cyl diesels are oily (it's a German thing) and come loaded with the "plastic fantastic" under the bonnet, but they return ridiculous fuel-economy, the electrics in the car are still working after 20years, and they don't look like a pregnant turd from the side.......

I've got to agree with valhalla a bit like marmite IMO which I can relate to the 1990's Ford Scorpio MK II estate which I wasn't keen on the styling with the American influence. Don't let me influence you if you are in the market to buy it.

I’ve had one in for water ingress into BCM
One that had low compression V6 diesel
Think the turbos can take a shit on the V6

The Jag above has a reasonable MoT history, but I do question why it was presented with worn tyres.... repeatedly. That said, the XF is essentially a 'power Mondeo', with all the issues that brings. I've seen enough ratty beemers to avoid them too.....
I somewhat agree with valhalla about design & build quality, but by now most of the issues will have been resolved where possible. If you like it, why not? Just bear in mind I'm the one that buys LandRovers....

Just bear in mind I'm the one that buys LandRovers.... Yes, I'm the other one.
We are a dying breed, and maybe that's a good thing.....
