I replaced the timing chain and the v belt with tensioner on this engine. It's the 1.2 tce from renault. Engine is running good, but after a Day this "cluncking" sound appeared. Anyone now what this can be? Crankshaft pulley maybe? Or oilpump? Clip in link below streamable.com/dz5bat

Watched video - a few times - engine looks good and dry - bottom pulley not jumping about - but noise is a sort of "jump"....?

Thanks for listening. The sound is like woesh woesh woesh etc. slight sucking sound. You can hear it only when stationary. Car drives great. Only thing I can think of is one of the pulleys is bad. Or maybe some silicone gasket got stuck somewhere in the engine and the oil pump is making that sound. I will remove the v belt on Friday and will listen if the sound is still there. Hope it's not to bad...

Check the poly-V belt down its edges - that's the auxiliary belt you have just renewed.
What make was the belt? Was it a well-known brand like Gates / Hutchinson / Dayco ?
I think the noise might be something delaminating down one edge or another, possibly a damaged rib during fitting. It might be well worth taking this belt off and giving it a close look, if nothing else stands out. If a rib starts to "peel-back" from this sort of belt, it will throw it off the pulleys, so it needs investigation. I have heard this sort of noise before, and that was a Ford where a rib was flapping back from the substrate and rubbing each time it went round the complete auxiliary pulley-run - there will always be one pulley that will be tighter for width than the rest.

Remove the drive belt, check pulleys and tensioners for excessive play and noise..Start engine for 30 seconds with drive belt removed to see if noise has gone.
I suspect the drivebelt tensioner.

There's a new gates serpentine belt on it with a new skf tensioner. I will remove the belt on Friday and will check the belt and all the pulleys. Will let you know the outcome.

Because of all the rain here I haven't had a chanceto look at it... But after a long drive a week ago the sound went away. Not a really satisfying answer:) Still thanks for all the help!
