Good day
The last couple of days my Audi a3 2012 model 1.6 diesel automatic , will sporadically bring up a warning light either while I'm driving or when I attempt to start the car.
The glow plug light will start to flash and a warning will appear stating that an ESP fault has occurred, if the car is stationary it will not start, however if I switch it off and after a while it will start again and the error is gone.
When im driving, the car will basically go into "limp mode" were it will limit the revs and my speed, if i come to a standstill the car wont drive, i have to switch it off and wait and then after a while i can start it again and the fault is gone.
Please help if you know wat is happening?

You have an electrical fault.
You need to plug it is with a scan tool.
VCDS would be my weapon of choice.
Does not sound a simple fault top cure thou.

Possible brake light switch as that would stop a key start and retardation without a pedal signal would flag an esp fault?
Just a guess
100% needs a scan though

Agree about the brake pedal switch,we used to change them regularly. Just a cheap code reader should do the job as you only need to be able to read the ABS.
