I while back I replaced the rear coil springs on my wifes 2006 mk5 Golf GTI. I purchased Anschler springs from ECP. It was an easy enough task. After fitting I noticed they were a bit creaky, but after a little while this seemed to settle down and I thought nothing more of it. But the other night I went out for a meal with my brother and his wife. They sat in the back and the car creaked it's way over every bump I mean, they like their food but they're not huge. It was a tad embarrassing, and my wife who was in the front was devastated. Are Anschler any good, should I be looking to swap them out for a premium brand?

Anschler are about as cheap as you can get spring wise. We fit them here - a spring can't really make a noise on it's own - it is only where they are seated that the noise emanates from (had to check spelling of emanates on Google).Cheap springs are sometimes not quite a good fit and move on the cup mounts and make noise. A bit of silicon grease on the rubbers will shut this up (prove the point). ------------ Or you have another fault - Shocks? Rear drop links? Roll bar bushes? Radius arm/trailing arm bushes (common on a Golf)

Thanks for the answer, I did wonder how it was creaking so I'll pop them out, make sure all the surfaces are clean and I'll smear on a bit of lube!

I'm wondering if it's Anschler that are on the back of the BMW 3-sers 2010 Touring that is in my workshop right now......it creaks every time you lean on the car, and I had originally thought it was a bit of brake-drag, but now I'm not sure....
I haven't lifted the car (yet) to have a look, but if it was mine, it would drive me up the wall.
