Sons tiggy has a cl issue….
Firstly the locked/unlocked switch, the light doesn’t illuminate to say locked.
The cl is activating when the car is driven beyond 20mm h, but it seems to be attempting to re lock ….until the car gathers more speed when it stops doing this…
I’m thinking that it may be a door switch that is not feeding back to the ccm, and thus the light not coming on….
Anyone have any experience with this issue before I start ripping the car apart?

It sounds something along those lines - is there more or less noise coming from one of the doors (not forgetting the liftgate)? that'd be a starting point, with the right plug-in diagnostics you should be able to see the individual door status. We changed lots of door locks at Audi....

OG,
When driving the car, we can hear the door lock mechs being activated, difficult to determine which at the moment....I'm busy driving and my son is hearing impaired so he cant really tell me much as we go along the road....
Next chance I get to look at the car I'll do a visual inspect of all the locks and see if they are free before reaching for the diag kit (VAGCom )
Good to know that I can read the status of each lock...(assuming my kit will do this..)

VAGcom should pretty much do what you want, you should be able to trigger the locks manually too - are there any locking errors when the car is locked with the remote? Also check that the doors are actually locked by trying them from the outside after you lock them with the interior switch. The remote will 'superlock' whereas the central locking and interior button will only 'lock', different mechanisms so you may find one works fine where the other will fault. Don't go spraying anything in the lock, it only makes things worse....

Didnt get chance to check the door status with the interior switch....will try that next time I see the car...(might ask son to try it..) I've resisted the temptation to spray anything...and I'll tell my son not to do it....

Almost all lock electrical failures I deal-with on VAG are down to fluids being sprayed in - seems to attract grit & grime that fails microswitches. A case of "over-servicing".
This goes for Volvo integrated locks/switches as well.

It goes for them all! I think there is possibly two manufacturers of automotive door lock/latch assemblies, the only difference appears to be the quality or otherwise of the plastic moulding, the innards seem to be a ping-pong of them being copied, improved slightly and counter-copied.

A quick update…( sooner than anticipated ….that’s another story).
Locking from the inside activates all mechs inc. the boot… Locking from the fob, the same…
Now the events leading up to this, precluded my bring my HEXNET unit, so I ve not gotten any further until I can scan it.

As in actually locked - the doors won't open from the outside, or they all make a noise?

I didn't mention it because I'm fairly sure it doesn't have a locked/unlocked position sensor, IIRC it's just a motor that winds a pin backwards and forwards. There will be a DTC set if it's open circuit or shorted to + or - and I'm not sure if it's activated by drive-away locking/interior locking switch, most are only activated when the car is externally locked.

Just to update on this…
Was at my sons last weekend, he reports all is well now with no issues…
When asked what he had done, he replied…” I went round all the doors and checked them, open them then closed them….then it was all ok…”
I suspect there is an intermittent issue with one of the locks, but until it manifests itself, we will leave well alone.
