2013 (63 plate) 1 litre Ecoboost Ford B Max wet belt change. This is my eldest daughters car and it will be ten years old next September in 2023. The car has only done 25k miles from new and she is the second owner. It has FSH and I was talking to her about the wet belt will need changing at some point when it's ten years old next September ish. Now I am led to believe this is a right PITA to do as it's time consuming and depending where you go can be expensive. To replace the wet belt you have to strip down the top side and bottom of the engine to be able to access the wet belt and the oil pump belt and to be able to fit the correct timing tools. Anybody ever done one and time wise how long are we talking and costs please. I've been told it aint cheap. Somebody I know won't do these because of the time it takes and the special tools required.

Ford recommend these belts are replaced every ten years or 150,000 miles which ever comes first which IMO is to long as I have heard of failures with catastrophic outcome which is a new engine time.

About £1400 at the dealer
About £1000 at independent
Always talk of just buying a engine from for as they are cheap a few are £1200 plus vat Normally early version without balance shaft
Otherwise they are around £3500 + vat

63 plate fiesta eco 1.0 litre jobbie….? Probably only worth about 2’/6d….. …..that’s why we went for the 1.25 engine when we got ours….( got about 18500 miles on the clock….)..when I found out the 1.0 l fiesta had a 3 cyl engine we nearly walked away….till the dealer told us about the Zetec model they had tucked away…” Oh yes! We’ll have that one please…” I think we made a good choice…
