Hi
I have a BMW 530e G30 2018. Whilst doing a service, I performed a diagnostic and which returned 2 errors on the vehicle.
1B830A | LIN, communication (coolant pump for low temperature coolant circuit:) Missing
Existent: Yes
80436C Auxiliary coolant pump: Short circuit to positive terminal or open circuit
Existent: No
On the dash there is no errors present (ISTA says no error message will be displayed on dash). Using ISTA I performed guided fault finding. Activating the pump via ISTA did not result in the coolant pump switching on. No readings of coolant pump speed were relayed back to ISTA which was stuck on 255. Firstly, I checked ALL fuses in boot, driver footwell and passengers footwell which were fine. I was getting nominal voltage of 0.02v at wire harness which suggested power was being relayed. I checked the LIN cable which runs to the ECU from the cable harness and there was continuity present so cable looks good. Finally, I went on to replace the pump with a new pump and still this error message is present.
Has anyone come across this error? Any ideas on what I may have missed?
Many thanks in advance.

When you say "ECU" - did you mean EME...?

Did you replace the coolant pump with a genuine BMW one or an after market pump? Have you done anything or checked the BDC (Body Domain Controller). Don't these auxiliary coolant pumps have to be encoded?

If the wire was the main power feed, then 0.02v is not a good reading at all, and you have a "dry-joint" somewhere in the connector/s or harness.

Just to provide an update on this; the connector for the pump has 3 wires, positive, lin, neutral. Lin and neutral are working. the postive cable does not provide any voltage (0.02v) hence the pump is not working.
I am trying to locate the fuse for the aux pump but have been unable to. Ive checked the 3 fuxe boxes in the car (boot, passengars footwell and drivers footwell) non are for the pump.
Where is the BDC located in this? ive checked driver footwell on the side and its not there

Hi...
Today on a 2017 BMW 330E.
I did a low temp circuit cooling pump and an front Aux battery.
I can confirm the pump is not coded.
----------
I did vac fill the low temp coolant circuit - before I filled it with G11 coolant.
