Hi Board - I'm having a nervous breakdown here - my bp is through the roof. For several months now, Ive been trying to source the correct brake components from all the usual after market sellers. Twice now i've ordered disc/pad kits, using the car registration number to confirm fitment. TWICE i have been sent discs suitable for vehicles with 4 wheel studs - MINE HAS 5!. Ive now given up all hope of getting the full kit and have sourced the discs separately. - Now the pads. i KNOW a certain reseller stocks the pads for my car - i have had a set before. Trouble is, every time I choose MY car - either from reg number or indeed make/model/year/engine/body style, it comes back with a couple of choices - none of which look remotely like the ones for my car. can someone please tell me why this is such a difficult thing to do in 2022? after all, ive done it many times in the past - effortlessly! What started as a routine - need to change is now becoming a bit of a safety issue - these pads are getting mighty thin! Can someone please recommend a supplier of reasonable quality front brake pads for a peugeot 308 sw mk2 2014 diesel 1600cc 115bhp [model just prior to add blue] white with furry dice! last lot were economy jobbies and have thrown brake dust everywhere and burned up in 18k miles - i want something better this time. sorry its a rant guys but ................really? ??

can someone please tell me why this is such a difficult thing to do in 2022? You have failed to read the replies in the last post you made on the subject which gave you the reasons why you're having problems. Before you forget here is the link carmechanics.proboards.com/post/88066/threadBut, to make it clear. 1) Your car's year is a changeover year between two platforms. The earlier platform had four stud wheels, the later platform has five stud wheels. Unless you select your exact model from the catalogue there is no way for most catalogue systems to differentiate between the two. You can either use a supplier like Autodoc that lets you select the exact generation of car you need parts for or "fool" the parts systems by manually entering your 2014 car as a 2015 model which is the second generation. 2) You've gone and bought a Peugeot. Since time immemorial Peugeot/Citroen have been well known in the trade for sourcing and fitting a wide range of different sized brakes from different OEMs to the same models with zero rhyme or reason. Please do not spam the boards with more posts asking the same question. Read and comprehend the answers you have been given.

While 100% correct - I do have a little sympathy for the OP - my workshop parts shelf is littered with "choices for brakes for French cars" awaiting collection and credit from motorfactors. I would normally suggest the dealer and pay thru the nose for the "right stuff" - but to be honest that route fails allot of the time.

I lost count of how many times I have had to buy two or more sets of pads/discs for things like Polo 6N's, where the factory/supplier/build-date has just caught me out.
I am so paranoid, for example, that with the T6 I have just had through, I measured and re-measured all the brake parameters on the customer's driveway, and then went for the OEM of those brakes (Ate in this case) to ensure that the correct parts were procured, even as far as confirming the VIN with their cross-references.
My shelves are creaking under the weight of useless brake parts, all new-old-stock.........

Dead stock is dead money - I do not have this/will not have it - I will do anything to get a credit for parts - I will even pay return shipping (if I have to). Only parts lying about my workshop is bulbs/fuses/wiper etc. and fluids. Everything else I buy as I need it and get rid of it when I don't. Consumables I will stock - parts I will not. On the subject of consumables - I have a new addiction - the Wurth rep' came and I can't stop buying things.
