Over the garden fence, I was asked to look at two cars belonging to a neighbour and his daughter. My scantool for these is bog standard OBD without manufacturer specific codes.
Would really appreciate any available pointers or advice you guys may have with these (like run a mile from them!)
First was a Jaguar XF, 2015 2.2D. Intermittent non start with three codes as follows:
P0615-00 Starter Relay Circuit - Intermittent
P0512-24 Starter Request Circuity - Intermittent
U0167-00 Lost comms with Vehicle immobiliser control module - Intermittent.
Battery is good but was replaced as a precaution. Visually checked all fuses and relays, and re-seated some of them, and swapped two identical ones around to see if fault moved. No signs of water ingress. Car was fine thereafter but failed again a few days later. Car runs fine otherwise if and when it starts
Next the daughters car which is a 2011 Pug 207 1.4 HDi with DPF.
The radio display came up with an "filter clogged" message and the DPF light on. Car otherwise drove fine.
Only fault code I could get was P1352 which seems to relate to glow plugs and nothing to do with DPF. The lack of a DPF code could be down to the scantool being unable to resolve it. The car is quite smokey when blipped and a check on live data shows airflow at idle around 11gm/sec which seems quite high. There are no signs of any intake or boost leaks, air filer is clean and oil was changed recently. Disconnecting the MAF didn't improve the smoke, but am wondering a partially stuck EGR could cause this? Or is the P1352 the real cause in that its halting any regeneration?
