Had a regular customer of ours bring his Peugeot 208 gti with abs light on.
Scanned with Bosch KTS and it had error for tpms system requirements not met and also incorrect signal from front right.
Popped it on the ramp deleted the codes, sent car up and gave the pick up ring a clean with some degrease and compressed air just incase. Light came back on as soon as I driven down the workshop.
I then decided to look at live data for each wheel speed. The front right is reading 655.34km a hour even when the vehicle is stationary.
What we thinking, module/ecu issue?
We have referred to dealer as we don't want to play parts darts.

I’d probably say it’s a quiffy WSS
if was there on key on
Then it’s probably easiest to plug a new one in without fitting it

That's a default error value for when the DTC is set, it's meaningless. Most likely to be the speed sensor itself but it'd be wise to check wiring continuity to the ABS module and for any shorts to ground. A good way of testing the sensor is with a small magnet - clear the DTC's first though and tap the sensing face with the magnet lightly, making sure you draw the magnet ~5mm away from the sensor between taps.

What happens to the measured value if you spin the wheel once the DTC has been cleared? is it zero, erratic, implausible or steady up to a certain speed then faults? is the wheel bearing OK?

Bearing was fine, would have to look at the car again for more live data.
Light will come back on at around 10mph which I can safely achieve in the works.
