This is the BXE 1.9 diesel , fault code po0341 cam signal out of range. The car starts and runs ok but elm is on. I've checked the timing and it's ok, also tried a cam sensor but no joy. On live data when engine speed is 800rpm cam speed is reading 380 rpm is this ok? Could a bad Dmf cause cam and crank to be out of sync. There's no rattle from flywheel but there is a shudder when moving off. If codes are cleared car will drive fine with no light on but when it is stopped and started up again light will come on immediately .Any help on this appreciated. Thanks.

If it were mine, I would scope or use a frequency counter on the cam and crank sensors to make sure the ecu isn’t telling fibs…Also check the signal amplitude, if low enough could possibly cause the error
At engine speed of 800rpm, I would expect to see 400 dead on from the cam…hence the check above…
Can’t see how the dmf would influence the signal unless there’s an issue with the crank sensor/ flywheel setup…
Good battery? Good wiring from sensor to ecu?
My 2 cents…

When looking at the live data for the cam speed, try raising the engine speed a little from idle, just a tiny bit at a time.
Watch both engine speed and cam speed : Do they appear to "jump" in large increments? That could be your answer for the cam speed not being crank speed/2 ; the channel bit-count is too low on your scantool. This happens a lot with OBD2 access - you need to use a proper scantool to overcome that issue.
