Awful :/
Can you somehow fit a cheap universal Cat so they can get another year or two out of the car?

Perfectely usable 2006 car "written off". Car park theft in broad daylight. I've heard of hi-vis vests being called "urban camouflage" because of things like this. Who's going to bat an eyelid if a chap is under a car on a street with a "Recovery" vest/jacket on? Bastards all the same.

The previous one you did got paid out from the insurance? Previous Honda Jazz was paid out by insurer - this one the owner does not want to claim on the low value car.

The problem with a repair is:
An aftermarket CAT (which is what an insurer will spec).
Might not keep the MIL light off for ever!
These Honda's have a good CAT on them from the factory - with plenty of "noble metal content in them". Thats the reason they get knicked.

Fit a lambda spacer to the post cat 02 sensor and that should well keep the light off if ups P0420 that you suspect will come up.
