Qashqai steering problem

I have this 2010 qashqI 1.5 diesel and am having intermittent power steering problems. It's electric power steering and can be ok for days then stops working bringing on the P/s light. There are no codes stored, I replaced the battery and it's charging fine.

have you checked live data on t5he steering angle sensor for dropouts (easier if you can graph it)?
is there a pid for current draw for the epas?
