Insurance and write offs

Here's a good one I heard today.

Bloke wants to buy a car that was a Cat D approx 2 years ago.

He rings around for insurance and most companies won't touch him, and the only one that will wants to double the premium?!

Anyone else had problems?

How many people are driving around none the wiser that their car is a previous write off and technically uninsured?!

I've nevr had a problem. The majority of my cars have been previous write offs

Have you ever been asked whether it's a Cat C though?

I've been scanning the internet for answers on this but it's a very grey area

I've personally never had any problem either

Never been asked, but its on the logbook, so should automatically get flagged up
