Hi wondering if someone has an insight 2011 2.0 cdti insignia 160 has a rough idle but only when up to temp, will get to temp with a really short drive (2/3miles) and then starts to sound rough when idle , come to a stop and turn the car off and the fans are on (again even after only driving a mile or so, drives fine and doesn’t lack power, no engine lights on, any idea?
Thank you 😊

Do you have a scantool, or an OBD interface tool in your toolbox?
First thing to check is that the coolant temp sensor is working - sounds like it might be going doolally when the temperature reaches normal, and that is what is also bringing the fans on.

I had one of the earlier Insignias from new, a 2009 model. Needed a software update apparently... I sold the car before it was fixed..Dealer said there was no fault found when it was taken in under warranty...
Really needs a scan to see whats going on...

Get it scanned& the live data checked by someone who understands what they’re reading , if the dpf is clogging up it will bring the fans on very quickly

These 2.0 CDTi engines are the only engine I have ever seen that don't have "tabs" on the main shells.
