It is not very portable - it does work - it has all the tooling/extras with it - and it is mine! Another local small engineering company gone to the wall due to Covid - he giving up his workshop - going contracting - (fitting in a food factory).

Are you saying you are shutting up shop and going contracting? A sad day if you are....but hey you gotta make a living somehow.....Good luck if this true...π And I wish you well...

I'm intrigued about what a spark eroder does, I understand it can remove broken fixings? Spark erosion is conducted through metal disintegration machines (EDM). These machines use electrodes to send low voltage/ high current electrical charges that melts the designated piece of metal at the same time cold water thermal shocks the molten steel and pulverizes it into micro size pieces and flushes it away.Ex google...

Thats good then...ππ If I give up - I will be retiring early - not going to get a factory job. I must say thou - on a lighter note - all this lockdown - doing less - having less work has suited me no end. I really don't wanna go back to the high work load I was doing (Yeah the money is nice - but I have enjoyed doing a few cheap things with my spare time). The only upside to this pandemic thing is - it has made me think a bit - about how I spend my time (too much work). Maybe it is good thing....?

Trouble is I guess not much good if you canβt remove the components off the car which have the broken bolt or stud etc

I really wish I had a spark-eroder right now!
Skoda Roomster Scout, 2013MY, locking wheel-fixings....and the key has been broken by a previous owner's neighbour, who tried to help her out by getting a leaking tyre off the car to go to the nearest tyre-centre.
Some c**t has done these up with an airgun, so even with a negative 250Nm of undoing torque on my special "getting the locking fixings off" toolset, there's no movement. Impact it to 300Nm, and the blades in the tool-head sheer off flush with the recess in the locking fixing head. The fixings themselves are too hard to touch with other sorts of tools, unless you consider the tools on the Bodgit & Leggit Youtube video of such a removal process on a BMW (I think - possibly a VW).
Spark-erosion would get these out.......
