Slight emergency situation with my brother's 2002 Rover 25 1.4. The car has stopped responding to the keyfob, and despite attempts to replace the fob battery and resync the remote the car doesn't recognise the fob and won't disable the immobiliser. Possibly connected to this is the fact the central locking doesn't seem to be working either.
We're going to try and use the spare key and fob to get the motor going, however without the EKA code we're a bit stuck. So, does anyone
1) Have any tips and tricks to get a fob to resync? We've tried turning the igniton on and pressing the lock/unlock buttons multiple times
2) Has anyone got a recommendation for an online EKA code service?

If you have the EKA code you can enter it via the drivers door lock.
No idea where to get an EKA code now - no idea at all?

You can get EKA codes online. In this case it seems the problem was the central locking fuse. My brother swapped it for a spare and things started working

check wiring loom in hatch door, this usually is the cause of the blown fuse.

The plan is to see how it goes, and if it blows again I'll take a tailgate loom down with me from a spares car so I can check/solder/crimp it as required and then simply swap over.

Is it the old square type 2 button fob or the later rounded one?

Its the older type 5AS system with the two button fob, not the later type.
