I have my ABS warning light that comes on about every couple of weeks for about 2 hours, this started to happen about 9 months ago, i had a mechanic come out and check it over and he said it was probable a sticking censer as it only last a short time, it has never bothered me and not got any worst but next month the MOT is due, is this a MOT failure.

If the light is illuminated at the time of test it will fail.

No, as it will then fail for the light not coming on.

What kind of car is this? Also a "sticking sensor" doesn't make sense to me, as there's nothing to "stick" in an ABS sensor. I'd get the fault sorted properly by a diagnostic technician.

My money is on a cracked reluctor ring.
This needs fixing.
Get it checked by someone who knows what they are doing.

Good shout that Rhubarb, if the OP was to tell us the vehicle we might even be able to point in the right direction.

My old car is a 1999 Honda crv, i will take your advise and put it in a garage to be sorted. Last time it went in i had to have a new distributor over £600.

A couple of points: 1) A distributor has nothing to do with your ABS and 2) We're talking about your brakes, the second most important part of a car for avoiding accidents other than the loose nut behind the wheel. Don't skimp on brakes.
