Hello team,
I have a Citroen C1 MK1, after driving and shutting off the engine, anywhere from 5 mins to 15mins a rapid clicking noise starts from within the car, right hand side of the drivers footwell where the fuse box is sitting. The car runs perfectly and plenty of oil in the car and no check warning lights, the clicking noise will instantly stop if I turn the key one click and has no problems with the engine starting. Does anyone know what this could be?
Thanks,
Mike.

From what you're describing it sounds like a relay rapidly cycling. Have you noticed any electrical issues with the car?

Can you locate the fusebox containing the clicking relay/relays?
If we can track it down to one relay or the whole fusebox it would be a big clue
It's possible the ignition switch or its wiring is faulty and in the off position is intermittently supplying power when it should be off
Also look carefully at the battery connections for security including any cables that branch off towards the fusebox
It could also be a bad fusebox
Confirm all electrical devices on the car work normally first

You need to get this to an auto-electrician, whilst it is still doing this.
Sounds like a bad fusebox or connection to the fusebox, unfortunately very common on Peugeot/Citroen products of this era, but caught in time can be usually fixed quite quickly/cheaply. Often these problems stem from damp/corrosion in the wiring or contacts at/near the fuse+relay board - the clicking noise is a symptom of a poor (capacitive) connection in an electrical circuit.
