Hi All,
Had a fine old day which started with the intention of changing my rear bearing and it went downhill from there. Got the axle shaft disconnected at the diff end, dropped the exhaust and swing arm . Hub nut removed along with disc and caliper.
Will the axle come out of the hub, will it sh*te ! bent brand new bearing seperator and hub puller and knocked seven bells out of it but axle won't knock out and hub won't pull out, several grades of hammer proved fruitless.
Any suggestions welcome!!

yes take that whole assembly to someone with a suitable press,it has to be pressed out. a german car specialist i know has had a whole special assembly made to fit on his press cos of these.

Only chance if your doing at home is rig up some sort of heavy slide hammer and some heat if possible, then you have the problem of getting the bearing in properly !

I think its AST that do a kit for replacing these in situ, includes slide hammer to remove drive flange etc.
Ive used it and i changed both rear bearings quite quickly but i suspect the kit is mega bucks..

Update....took the whole trailing arm assembly to a hydraulic specialist and it took all of a 150 ton press to pop out the axle shaft, they hope to get the bearing out tomorrow.... this could prove to be expensive
