Around here at least the Ford Ranger *is* the best selling pickup truck. Yep,I realise they are popular, by "oddball" what I really meant was the freaky nature of Japanese/Euro/USA platform crossovers Especially Mitsubishi who will literally jump into bed with anyone to get hold of Euro Diesel engines, which I dont understand as the Mitsu engines I worked on in the 90s where way better than anything VAG or PSA could build, I'm guessing the emissions compliance is really expensive!!!

Yep RAC 15 years service, how you liking the indy life?? I probably know a few of the patrols from my whatsapp group!! Yeah Karl? "How do you like indy life?" Interested in your response? Certainly very different Don’t get me wrong it’s not all perfect Biggest challenge I’m finding is trying to keep all the jobs/customers updated If delays/work in process with their cars Dealing out some big bills Everyone’s paid up so far Not to much Argo Bar one customer As Boss has a number of dealer platform Tools we get quite a bit of work from other garages Sometimes that can mean a easy fix Good Mark up on diagnostic time Other times it can mean taking on someone else’s problem job

Trying to drum into me
Don’t be afraid to charge well
If they don’t like it
They can go to the dealer

Had an interesting experience with ALLDATA today - it seemed to change in the middle of my work!
They sent an email out this lunchtime, explaining a new format , search-terms, etc. etc. and then went some way to explaining why at 12:00pm the screen suddenly became a whole lot more colourful !!
Now, me being never one for losing anything in the translation (!) when it comes to rubbish software......this is really, actually quite good. Yes, ALLDATA has suddenly joined the 21st Century, and the front-end to all of the information on that portal has suddenly got a whole lot easier to navigate.
For anyone who has not used ALLDATA before, it used to be fairly raw & undigested manufacturer data/workshop manuals, so each make (and sometimes model) had a different feel about it. It made finding electrical diagrams an absolute nightmare, and I did feedback to them to say as much.
Not any more....there are quick-links to the Service data, the Electrical data, DTC's, and loads more, and the new search terms and functions really do work now. Navigating back and forth around the Ford Transit Connect is blisteringly quick, irrespective of where Uncle Henry has tried to hide the info. You know the sort of problems; you are rebuilding an engine, but UH has decided that the fuel pump goes in one chapter, the engine timing in another, EGR and manifolding back into the first chapter, the torques are all over the place.....
I am very happy with this portal right now, in case you cannot tell!!
What they have done is match A/D with the "common format" approach to information, but unlike A/D, it has the manufacturer data "from the horses mouth" and comprehensive, also used colour to good effect to make things easier to find back on the screen as you turn back to it each time. I think this is going to give A/D a serious run for its money (a serious amount of money in the case of A/D, more than 60% more than ALLDATA). OK, A/D is more comprehensive on coverage, but the detail is just not there any more.
