I need a couple of outer sills and some floor welded on my SportKa but all the body shops I have been too are reluctant to help. I have been quoted £600 by a local shop and after trying to get it booked in they just keep fobbing me off. I know its a horrible job but I have supplied both full sills and it's a job at the end of the day. Which I am willing to pay to get done otherwise I gotta buy another car but I like the Ka. Other than the rust it's a decent car. Can anyone recommend a localish place around the Bucks area that could do the job. I could patch it myself but I want the full sills replaced and painted which is not a job for me.

We don't like doing any welding on KA's - due to the foam on the inner wings catching alight. £600 looks cheap to me! We don't do full sills now on anything - only patching for MOT's. Truthfully I not suprised you are having trouble getting someone to do it.

2004. Quite old but runs OK and has been reliable for me. Plus I like it. If I have to buy another car it will cost money and you always end up buying other peoples problems. There is a 'club' but not sure how active it is. Also I think they are on Facebook and I do not have an account.

Yep I can understand why
Between a rock and hard place
They quote you
Get it in start cutting out
And cost doubles then what
You really have to opinions bodge/patch it up
Or go full restoration on it
There’s a reason you don’t see these anymore

Or taking it to a shop who doesn’t mind taking a £1000 off you
Only for it to fail on more corrosion next MOT

It ran out of mot this week so I weighed up breaking it, scrapping it, selling it or try and repair it. In the end I decided to sell it and got £300 within half hour of putting it on Gumtree. Gutted to get rid of it. I still have the turbo Ka and I can concentrate on that now, luckily the shell is good!
