My 45's passenger side carpet sound deadening is absolutely sodden, but I can't find a leak. I've run a watering can along the screen and scuttle and simply can't see anything coming through.
Anyone got any ideas where it might be coming from? It's plain/clean water, so its not the matrix or the screenwash pipe.

Is the door seal intact? Has the 45 got a sunroof (drain blocked!)

No sunroof, and I couldn't see a fault with the door seal.
I think it might be the heater box, so I'll take the scuttle panels off and have a nose.

You'll really need to gut the interior and remove that underlay Then dry all the floors right out Then park the car under a shower head for possibly several hours Usually a watering can isn't suitable

I've seen the boot well so full of water it gushes over and into the foot wells under heavy braking.
Also on these if there has been a replacement screen fitted at some point, certain clips can snap allowing water ingress.
The good news about these cars is that removal of the dash is dead easy (not that it'll come to this).

I've checked the carpet in the back and it's dry. I'll check the spare when I get a chance mind.
Current plan is to dry the carpet out as much as possible then see where gets wet first.

have you recently been taking an elderly aunt or uncle for shopping trips? I have heard of unusual damp spots and strange musty smells after doing so

Have you checked to see if its had a replacement screen? I don't think it has. I'll check in the morning.

Have you scrapped this car yet?
I sold a 45 in almost hours the other week, and the Civic equivilent. Both for a grand.

The seafrost one? Still trying to find the leak. TBH I might give up and put the carpet back in.
The copperleaf one is still being stripped for bits.
