A couple of questions, then,
Do you have the log book/V5 ? Which Bantam is it? Engine size would be nice....came in 3 flavours, 125, 150 and 175 cc.... Chances are its either 125 or 150 as the later ones after the D3 were 175cc...
Another clue is the gearbox, the 175's had a 4 sp box, while the others were only 3....

Looks like a very exciting project, definitely worth keeping on the forum. I reckon Chippie should have it by default!!

Good memories of the BSA Bantam back in the 1950's my late wife & I did our courting on one, for a small bike it went well and took us all over and never had a problem ( but I was a apprentice mechanic ) I remember all the telegram boys road them round Sheffield, and look at the price's they are fetching now.

A lot of work to put it right, bu immensely satisfying to do, you can get most things for them fairly reasonably, keep the buff logbook with the bike, it makes a difference to the appeal of them.
villiers 175, nice little 2 stroke, they’ll nearly burn coal, they were made in the times of “pool” petrol

I'm hoping that all of my nephews and nieces will be excited about all the dead cars and parts that I have stashed away, but I doubt it....
