I've never been to Egypt. Should be nice & hot though Off topic - I've had a look at your website - lots of interesting stuff on there. I'm not a million miles away from you - I'm in south Lincolnshire, near Crowland. I may well use you for pump testing/repairs etc, or even call in if I'm in your area!!!!

I've never been to IOW before, but my partner knows it very well. She keeps saying how relaxing it is - like going back in time. Apparently we 'must' go to a restaurant called 'on the rocks' or some similar name, where I believe you cook your steak on a hot rock on the table in front of you. Got any other 'must see' recommendations for me?

Welshy I've never been to IOW before, but my partner knows it very well. She keeps saying how relaxing it is - like going back in time. Apparently we 'must' go to a restaurant called 'on the rocks' or some similar name, where I believe you cook your steak on a hot rock on the table in front of you. Got any other 'must see' recommendations for me? The Isle Of Wight is very relaxing. The pace of life is slower than anywhere else as no one is in a hurry to go anywhere ;D ;D ;D The 1st time we stayed there, I towed my caravan to Brighstone Bay. The South West side of the island is far more rugged than the rest. It was lovely, with local shops a mile away. The 2nd time we stayed there, we spent 4 nights in the travel lodge in the centre of the town, and it was lovely. Last year, we had a flat in Ventnor, overlooking the beach. I wanted to go back there this year, but family matters prevented us As for places to see, do not bother wasting your money on seeing the Needles. Just do what most do and park in the car park and have a look with binoculars ;D The Isle Of Wight Pearl is interesting. This is a mile from Brighstone and is a real tourist attraction. Best of all, it's free to get in. The Botanic Garden in Ventnor is also great and a really nice to wander through the grounds Cowes is a lovely town to wander through, and seeing all the boats in the harbour is a great sight. Ryde is another nice town, but much busier (and hillier ;D). All I can say is that I'll guarentee you won't see half of the island and will definately want to go back again As for a place to eat, there's loads of small restaraunts all over; it really depends what you want. My favourite is the Spyglass Inn in Ventnor; right on the beach front and great food. Just be warned that depending when you go, most places get very packed in season

A mate of mine does house swaps in the summer. This year they went to Sweden and the Swedish family came to his and explored the Yorkshire Dales and The Lake district (which is just over an hour away). My mates family loved Sweden and said Scandinavia is fantastic.

I remember in primary school, teacher had been to Egypt, Miss Turner I think it was, not sure, but I could appreciate her shape even at that age, used to sit us on her knee to read........mint !
Anyway, she gave us a bit of feedback on the trip, wrote 'Egypt' at the top of the blackboard and asked me what it said.......I said 'egg white' and everyone laughed at me..........suckers........I was busy watching her puppies misbehave ;D
