Doesnt really warrant goung in tools and eqpt......
So what do you guys use for pumping up tyres ( not the workshop compressor....😂😂) thatyou might keep in the car? I have a twin cyl RAC foot pump, but this old body of mine is reluctant when it comes to using it, so thinking of getting a 12v portable electric one..... Any recommendations, any to stay away from?
Thanks for looking....😀

I have an ancient Halfords one and a 5 year Ring (no jokes please!), both have served me well

I've got a Ring "lunchbox" sized one that's served me well. Only downside is the thing makes a hell of a racket.
The other thing I'd suggest is if you've got a collection/setup of cordless tools (Milwaukee/Makita etc) have a look if a cordless unit's available with the same battery you use for everything else.
The last thing I'd say is also don't trust the pressure gauge on any tyre inflator, always use a proper dedicated unit.

I had a Ring tyre inflator which like rhyds I also found noisey so when it gave up I bought a Halfords rapid digital tyre inflator with a pressure cut out when set pressure reached to replace it been ok so far. I usuall yset it 2 PSI higher then adjust if necessary. I always check tyre pressure after with a tyre pencil gauge as I also find these tyre inflaters aren't 100% accurate.

Got the Ring one from Screwfix.....
Not impressed.....Its noisy, takes a while to pump up when its already seeing 30-32 psi, the lead gets warm in use....
I guess the Ring ones use the same pump? A brushed 12v motor with a crank/piston/ cylinder assembly......
Gonna give to my son in law, and look at the Halfords one....

I have a proper metal 12v compressor in the RAC van, with proper air hose and all that
Never use it though, for the last 3 years I have been using the little mobility inflator out of my Honda Civic (without the gel obviously)
I can plug it into whatever car I'm fixing or my jumpstart pack, it never lets me down and I have blown up a lot of tyres in the past 3 years
I don't know who makes it for Honda, but its been better and outlived all the RAC and Draper "professional" compressors I have had in the past 15 years!!!!

I had a Ring 12 volt compressor for about 7 years. Digital and cut out at required pressure. Was good for 30quid. It died a couple of months back.

I've got a couple of Ring 12v units, normally about £13 on ebay.
Analogue gauge, relatively quick to inflate a flat tyre when I've needed it.
Can't fault it tbh.

I'd like one to last longer than that.....😢😂😂😂😂😂😂 I think they are all 'a much of a muchness...'...... Cheap 12 volt motor with a piston/crank/cylinder and petal valves.... More research I think...

Trying to find a good footpump is hard work. I was in the market for one - all that is avail is not up to a lot. I ended up restoring the brass one I have had in the rear of my car for years - new air leader hose/chuck and a new bit of plywood for it's base.

I went out to a breakdown a couple of days ago. A clio as I remember it. We still have the Clio on the forecourt which was towed in as a breakdown. I remember the other tech with me said the nearside rear tyre on the clio was flat and he found an electric pump in the boot. I did not really take note of the make or anything, but what did surprise me was the speed that it inflated the tyre, I must say I was impressed. We still have the Clio so if I remember I'll have a look tomorrow and see what make it is and post back.
