I purchased a primed door mirror cap from ebay. Which I thought would be ready for priming and painting without using a plastic primer. However the mirror appears to have no primer and is just a shiny plastic on the inside and outside. Are these primed plastic components okay to paint without using a plastic primer? From my experience, I would rub down with fine 'wet n dry' to key the surface....then spray with a plastic etch primer, flat off the primer after its had time to harden then spray with colour of your choice....
