Working on my mates 2002 Audi A3,and baffled as to why it wasn't bleeding correctly. We tried the "old school" method, press down, release and close nipple, and raise the pedal. We did this several times unsuccessfully. We then agreed to use the one man brake/clutch bleed that has a no-return valve in the cap. It was sort of improving. Then I mentioned that the ABS pump needs to be on,but I can only advise as it's my mates car. He hesitantly agreed as he prefers the "old school" method. So,it was the KOEO with "one man" bleeding valve. Which ever method we used it was not improving. At the time,we never did suspect a block nipple on the threaded side, which my mate took out of the N/S rear caliper. So,is it definitely with KOEO and start with the furthest away from the master cylinder reservoir, and then zig-zag to the front? thanks Paul

What have you been working on? Has the system gone dry?
There's bleed nipples on the mastercylinder on these?
VCDS can be used to cycle and bleed the abs pump via on screen guide.

Well,my mate has had a pre-mot check and was given a list of issues, and the O/S rear caliper was one of them. He took it off to rewind it back and to replace the gaiter back on it's location. He intended to paint them, but it was decided not to just in case it'll need replacing. I'm none the wiser on these cars. Since he is the owner,I would have thought he'd be more informed. Thanks for the VCDS info.
